Open Question: what is a good amount to earn in north carolina?

I am moving to raleigh in december and my monthly bills including my rent and lights, cable and what i currently have in bill would be about $1400 a month. I feel like if i could earn $2000.00 or even $1800 a month after taxes i will be ok. I have a college degree, but i know that i am young and i have to settle. what is the average that a person in NC earns a week? Is $500.00 a week after taxes asking for too much?
